The Kid Dubs Kate the Sweetest
Spencer Breslin, the 11-year-old actor who recently starred in the big screen "Cat in the Hat" with Mike Myers, and played the younger Bruce Willis in "The Kid", tells us the that making the upcoming Raising Helen was special to him because of his female co-stars, mainly Kate Hudson. He's dubbed the new mommy "the sweetest person I've ever met." Breslin describes the Garry Marshall-helmed film as "part comedy and part tear-jerker. In the movie our parents die and Kate gets custody of my sister and I. Kate is a socialite who is irresponsible and we end up raising her to become a good parent." Another reason the film was special to Breslin is that he got to work with his real life sister, Abigail Breslin, who plays his sister in the film."It was the first time we got to work together, so that was really cool," says Spencer. But perhaps Spencer's favorite part about making Raising Helen was getting to work with Marshall, of whom he's learned to do a really dead-on impression. "Garry's one of the funniest people you could meet. He'd call all the girls Harriet, Lorraine or Lenore when he couldn't remember their names. It was like we got a granddad, not only a director, out of the deal," laughs Spencer. Raising Helen is due in theaters in June.

Hudson Baby Name Upsets Her Father
Movie star Kate Hudson's decision to name her new-born baby Ryder Russell Robinson has left the Almost Famous star's estranged father heartbroken. Bill Hudson is angry that the tot's middle name is Russell - a tribute to actor Kurt Russell, who raised Kate with her mother and his longtime partner Goldie Hawn. Bill, who was not invited to Kate's wedding to rocker Chris Robinson, hopes he can repair his relationship with the 24-year-old and be granted access to his grandson. He says, "I would love to have a relationship with my grandchild. I'm hurt by a lot of what has transpired in the last year because we were getting it on track behind the scenes, not in the public eye."

Queen Latifah and Kate Hudson on to produce new comedies for the network. In keeping with its goal to bring more big-name talent behind the camera, UPN has inked deals with Queen Latifah and Kate Hudson to executive produce two comedy series for the net. Queen Latifah will, through her Flavor Unit banner, produce the radio station-set WHOT, while Hudson and her Cosmic Entertainment will be developing the half-hour I Do, I Did, Now What, based on the Jenny Lee bestseller. People In The News
Among the couples dancing at the 37th birthday party Kate Hudson threw for hubby Chris Robinson, says People, were 25-year-old Ashton Kutcher and 15-year-old Rumer Willis, daughter of Kutcher's girlfriend, Demi Moore. This only accentuates the faintly creepy feeling we got when Kutcher cooed about the joys of driving Moore's kids to school and attending parent-teacher conferences.
